The last measure of my piece spreads out over the width of a whole page. I've searched this forum for a thread that addresses this topic - it must have come up before - but I get no hits. If it has been covered, please direct me to the appropriate thread. If not, how do I get the last measure to be a reasonable width? In step 2 you can't "add a note a second above the first note" by hitting the number 2 key on the QWERTY keyboard. That trick is one of the new features in Finale 2004's Simple Entry Tool. Instead, in Finale 2002b, add a note a second above the first note by clicking.

A major problem some have had with staff sets is that if you try to do playback while you're using a staff set, HP has a tendency to lock up and crash Finale. There are several posts to this effect a few months ago.

Finale always does a pretty poor job with tremolo placement, so I don't trust it. Also, another tremolo question. Let's say you have a single note and you want it played tremolo for four bars. Should they be tied with a tremolo marking on only the first note, or untied with tremolos on all the whole notes?

Finale now adds a double-dotted 32nd rest to the triplet. 4) Do this one more time: left-arrow to return to the measure, right-arrow to leave; Finale adds a double-dotted 64th note to the triplet. The two dots are farther apart than they should be.
