Motel 6 on the corner of Plumb and Virginia is a tightly run, clean motel, who has the best Chinese food in town within 20 feet of their door. The rapid transit bus, takes maybe 5 minutes to get back and forth to the corner of Liberty and Virginia Street. The museum is about a block west of that corner. Lived here all my life, so that's the easiest route. For a more immersive hotel experience, I'd recommend the Peppermill, which is on the same bus line.
Please check on the days they close during the week. I know they do, but can't remember which day it is. And plan on lunch there, they have a great café.
