New details about Barry Keoghan's Joker in ''The Batman 2'' reveal a dark twist: his version of the villain was disfigured since birth, according to director Matt Reeves.

I’m surely not alone in thinking that Mark Hamill is the GOAT of actors who’ve played The Joker in some form of media. The actor set a high standard when he debuted as the villain decades ago on Batman: The Animated Series.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, The Batman: Part 2 director, Matt Reeves – who is also executive producer on The Penguin – explained how Keoghan will be approaching the seminal character.

Speaking to ComicBook at The Penguin world premiere in New York City, star Colin Farrell noted that he and Barry Keoghan "had a giggle" about where they fall in The Batman Epic Crime Saga.
