According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, Marchand is reportedly sticking with the defending Stanley Cup champions for the long haul, inking a six-year contract extension worth just under $32 million.

The Florida Panthers acquired Brad Marchand at the trade deadline in March with the anticipation that he would only be a rental for the rest of the season, a final piece to a hopeful second Stanley Cup championship run.

Marchand has signed a six-year, $32 million deal with the Panthers to remain in Florida. That locks Marchand in with the rest of Florida's core, as the team also re-signed Sam Bennett earlier this offseason and reportedly brought back Aaron Ekblad as well.
