Chandigarh: It was a swift action in the nick of the time by an Amritsar police ASI Jasbir Singh that averted the assassination bid on Sukhbir Badal who was performing his duty of a "sevadar" at Golden Temple in Amritsar Wednesday.

The Amritsar police commissioner said they are deeply investigating the assassination bid on SAD leader Sukhbir Badal from all angles, and it will be as transparent as possible for all to see

The major mishap took place while the SAD President was serving his religious penance on ‘day 2’ at Golden Temple. Clad in blue 'sewadar' uniform, Badal was sitting at the entrance of the Temple with a plaque card around his neck.

Assistant Sub-inspector Jasbir Singh previously served in the security detail of former Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal.
