Gio Lopez threw for two touchdowns and ran in another as South Alabama dominated Appalachian State 48-14 on Thursday night. The Jaguars (2-2, 1-0 Sun Belt) scored a pair of touchdowns in the first and second quarters to jump out to a 28-0 lead.

South Alabama steamrolled FCS-member Northwestern State 87-10, setting the school’s scoring record and giving new coach Major Applewhite his first victory last week.
