As the World Series stole Australia's best Test cricketers away, an unlikely band of the young and the old came together to take on the might of India.

With noses bloodied and pride stung from the pounding in Perth, Australia will look to hit back with the pink ball in the second test against India at Adelaide Oval as the tourists welcome back returning skipper Rohit Sharma.

The Australian batting line-up seemingly had no answers to the Indian seam attack in Perth as they were bowled out for 104 and 238 on the way to a 295-run loss and those struggles should be amplified by the use of the pink ball.

India and Australia are set to lock horns at the Adelaide Oval in the pink-ball Test on December 6. For a change, the hosts are under pressure in a Test series being played at home. But their record in day-night Tests is superb.

Australia will draw confidence from their exceptional record in day-night tests and expect to rebound from their Perth setback when they face India in the second match in Adelaide, wicketkeeper Alex Carey has said.

The second match of IND vs AUS Border-Gavaskar Test series will be played at Adelaide Oval from December 6. India vs Australia 2nd Test in Adelaide will be a day-night test, which will be played with a pink ball.
