Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt was named as a finalist for the Associated Press NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award on Thursday, but the oddsmakers do not expect him to win it.
The AP announced five finalists for its eight awards that will be handed out at NFL Honors on Feb. 6, including MVP, Defensive Player of the Year and more.
Along with Barkley and Baun, the Eagles had Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean named finalists for Defensive Rookie of the Year. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio is up for Assistant Coach of the Year.
