Alex Jones' Infowars will go up for auction on Wednesday to help pay the $1.5 billion in damages owed to Sandy Hook families.

A closed auction for conspiracy theorist Alex Jones' media company assets is underway Wednesday. Money from the sale of Jones' Infowars will go toward paying the families of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims who won a defamation case against Jones after he spread conspiracy theories and misinformation that the shooting was a hoax.

Now, Jones is insisting that “good guys say they’re gonna buy it,” but it’s unclear if that’s just a self-lie the soon-to-be-former host is telling himself to get through the day; he did amend his statement to: “Who knows if they’re really good guys once they buy it.

Live bidding will be private, and the future owner of Jones' company will be public once court papers are filed. The proceeds will go to pay Sandy Hook families who won defamation cases against Jones.
