Temple kicker hits longest college football field goal in 16 years
The kick is the longest made field goal at the top level of college football since 2008 when UTEP’s Jose Martinez hit a 64-yard field goal 16 years ago. It’s also the longest kick in the history of Lincoln Financial Field in either a college football or NFL game. Eagles kicker Jake Elliott held the previous record with a 61-yard field goal.
Temple Kicker Nails 64-Yard Field Goal, Longest Ever at Lincoln Financial Field
The redshirt senior transfer from Austin Peay's kick was the longest in any football game since Lincoln Financial Field opened on Aug. 3, 2003, breaking the record of 61 yards set twice by Eagles kicker Jake Elliott. It broke the school record—previously set by Sean Fleming in 1990 against Wyoming —by eight yards.
