Thousands of people took to the streets in a national day of action to protest the Trump administration’s policies.

The “ Good Trouble Lives On ” national day of action took place around the United States to protest President Donald Trump’s controversial policies such as mass deportations and Medicaid cuts.

“Good Trouble” rallies are coming to Boston and other Massachusetts cities on Thursday, July 17, in protest of the Trump administration, according to the Indivisible Mass Coalition.

Protests and events against President Donald Trump’s controversial policies were held at more than 1,600 locations around the country Thursday. The “Good Trouble Lives On” national day of action was held in honor of the late Congressman John Lewis.

MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) - After being canceled Thursday due to a thunderstorm, Montpelier’s “Good Trouble” rally will be held today. There will be a photo procession of civil rights icons and songs from the Civil Rights era. Speakers will include Vermont Secretary of State Sarah Copeland Hanzas and State Senator Kesha Ram Hinsdale.

National organizers of the “Good Trouble Lives On” protests said more than 1,500 events took place across the country Thursday, pushing back against what they described as the Trump administration’s “most brazen rollback of civil rights in generations.

Republican Chair Keith Brin said in a text Friday that Trump’s legislation and actions were part of the fulfillment of campaign promises.
