Hardik Pandya won’t be playing for MI in their IPL 2025 season opener against CSK as he was handed one-match suspension by the BCCI after MI’s last match of IPL 2024 for his team’s slow over-rate. As MI were found guilty of violating slow over-rate rules three times in the season, Pandya was handed a fine of INR 30 lakhs and one match suspension.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will play each other twice in the 2025 IPL, Mumbai Indians will not have any away match against RCB and KKR. The 10 teams in the 2025 IPL have been divided into two groups of five teams each.

IPL 2025 will start with a match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Eden Gardens. Guwahati and Dharamsala are among the venues hosting games this season.
