Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant made history at the IPL 2025 auction, securing a massive INR 27 crore deal with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), making him the most expensive player in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Known for his explosive batting, Rishabh Pant created history by becoming the most expensive player in IPL history. After parting ways with Delhi Capitals, Pant was snapped up by the Lucknow Super Giants for a record Rs 27 crore. Speculation is rife that the left-hander might take over as LSG's captain.

Shreyas Iyer would have been a multibagger stock by now. He has been bought by Punjab Kings for a solid Rs 26.75 crore. This was 118.36 per cent higher than Rs 12.25 crore offered by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) last auction.

"Goodbyes are never easy...,' Pant wrote on Instagram. Talking about his nine-year-long journey with the Delhi franchise, Pant admitted he grew in several ways while playing there.
