Pamela Hayden, who has voiced various characters including Bart’s best friend, Milhouse Van Houten, is retiring from the animated show after 35 years, Fox confirmed Wednesday. Hayden’s final episode — titled “Treehouse of Horror Presents: Simpsons Wicked This Way Comes” — will air Sunday, Nov. 24.

Hayden, who voiced Bart Simpson’s nerdy sidekick Milhouse Van Houten, Jimbo Jones and others, said she is leaving the show to pursue other opportunities.

The Simpsons fans were in for difficult news and a big loss to the town of Springfield on Wednesday (November 20). Pamela Hayden, who originated the voice of Bart’s bespectacled best pal Milhouse and many other mainstay characters, announced she is retiring from voice acting and is leaving the show.
