It’s fair to say that September’s unveiling of Emily Armstrong as the new singer of Californian nu-metal band Linkin Park was met with a mixed reaction by fans. Opinions on social media ranged from “absolutely disgusting decision” to “f–king phenomenal”.

Linkin Park started teasing the record in late August when they launched a cryptic countdown on their website and socials. Just over a week later, they shared "The Emptiness Machine" and played an intimate show in Los Angeles, revealing Emily Armstrong of Dead Sara as their new co-vocalist, as well as the details for From Zero.

Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory has now spent three years on the U.K. albums chart, marking a first for the band. It reaches that milestone as they also debut at No. 1.
