Quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. left the game after trying to play through a thumb injury, and the Terrapins fell, 29-13, to ensure a losing campaign.

Iowa pushed and bruised the Terps with a punishing rushing offense, and the response was too little, too late.

Maryland football was officially eliminated from bowl eligibility Saturday following a 29-13 loss to Iowa in its final home game of the season. The Terps were dominated in all three phases of the game en route to a disheartening loss.

The Terps officially secured their worst season since 2019, which was coach Michael Locksley’s first year at the helm.

Things look like they are clicking for the Iowa Hawkeyes heading into their season finale. Their 29-13 win on the road over the Maryland Terrapins moved them to 7-4 overall and 5-3 in Big Ten play in one of their most physical showings of the year.

On the ground, Iowa ran 58 times for a total of 288 yards and two touchdowns. While not utilized as much, the passing game from redshirt sophomore Jackson Stratton was efficient by finishing 10-of-14 for 76 yards.
