The Dodgers and Mets have added serious talent to their rosters since their last meeting in October, but will that change the outcome of the series?
Soto, who spurned the Yankees for the Mets on a $765 million deal in the offseason, was the subject of a lot of reporting over the past few days, including NJ Advance Media’s Bob Klapisch, who said that Mets officials were “concerned about Soto’s lack of enthusiasm for his new team.”
The 26-year-old is 2-for-11 with one walk and one stolen base across the Mets' current three-game losing streak. He also hasn't had a multi-hit game since May 9 and hasn't had a three-hit game all season.
Soto was dropped from second to third and Alonso from third to fourth as the Mets try to shake their recent offensive malaise.
