Thousands of people across North Texas braved the hot and humid weather Saturday for more than a dozen anti-Trump "No Kings" protests. Around 1:15 p.m. Saturday, thousands of protesters gathered at City Hall Plaza in Dallas and began marching through the streets of downtown.

A man has been arrested in connection with the threats. Texas DPS says it evacuated the Capitol and Capitol Grounds around 1 p.m.

The threat came on the same day two state lawmakers in the Democratic-Farmer-Labor party were assassinated in Minnesota.

Protests in nearly 2,000 places are scheduled across the country, from city blocks to small towns, urban areas to rural areas, from courthouse steps to parks to sidewalks to service roads.

Hundreds of demonstrators, many of whom traveled from neighboring counties, lined Highland Avenue and Main Street, carrying signs, waving various flags, and shouting chants as cars passing by honked....

Protesters are gathering across many cities in the Bay Area, from San Francisco, San Jose and Oakland to Walnut Creek and Santa Rosa.
