Ontario Premier Doug Ford is defending legislation proposed by his government that would prevent cyclists or their families from suing the province if they’re injured or killed in areas where the government is forcing the removal of bike lanes.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Premier Doug Ford wouldn’t clarify amendments to the province’s new bike lane bill, instead accusing Toronto of “inflating the costs” of removing the lanes along three major roads.

The supposed “law and order” party is duplicitous, but that won’t stop them from moralizing, nor will it stop them from leveraging culture war wedge issues to divide the electorate and wrongfoot the split Liberal-NDP-Green opposition.
