There's no question that the AMD Ryzen 9000 series had a troubled launch, but AMD's latest fixes for the entire lineup of chips could go a long way to addressing the concerns of gamers and creators who might be holding off on buying one of the new chips.

AMD has patched performance issues with Ryzen 9000 CPUs on older motherboards while announcing new market-ready motherboards for the Zen 5 architecture chips.

With the launch of the new X870 motherboards, AMD is also releasing the new AGESA PI 1.2.0.2 BIOS to improve Ryzen 9000 Series performance.

AMD is releasing new BIOS updates that will boost performance for its Ryzen 9600X / 9700X processors and address some latency issues. The performance improvements and latency reductions arrive around a month after disappointing Zen 5 desktop CPU reviews and appear alongside updates to Windows 11 that include optimized AMD-specific branch prediction for both Zen 4 and Zen 5 chips.

Though highly anticipated, AMD’s Ryzen 9000 series of desktop processors arrived with a bit of a thud earlier this year. Since then, the company has been in damage control, blaming the initial poor performance delta on some of its own faulty testing methodology while offering a series of fixes.
