As of January 15, 2025, PlayStation’s Shuhei Yoshida will leave Sony but not retire from the industry entirely. Yoshida made the announcement while on the PlayStation Podcast Tuesday (a condensed transcription of the interview appears on the official PlayStation blog.

Shuhei Yoshida, the popular PlayStation executive, has announced that he will leave Sony Interactive Entertainment on Jan. 15, 2025. At that point, he’ll be just shy of his 32nd anniversary with the company, having joined in early 1993 when the first PlayStation console was still in development.

Shuhei Yoshida, one of the oldest and highly celebrated PlayStation execs, has shed light on his interest in becoming a voice actor, once his tenure at the console giant is over. The popular PlayStation official is set to step down from his position on January 15, 2025, after more than 30 years of service.
