U-Haul announced Friday they are helping those in need by offering 30 days of free storage at more than 430 locations.

Helene has weakened to a tropical storm as of Friday morning and will continue to weaken today as it moves over Georgia toward the Tennessee Valley. The extent of the damage from the storm is yet to be realized but widespread flooding was reported across the Southeast. National Hurricane Center

Weather watchers are tracking the progress of what could soon become Hurricane Helene. The system grew to Tropical Storm strength as it made it way north through the Gulf of Mexico. Helene is expected to make landfall along the Florida panhandle overnight on Thursday,

U-Haul is offering free storage to those impacted by Helene at participating locations. Regional offices in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia and Alabama are extending one-month of free self-storage or U-Box portable container usage to families and individuals who need a dry and secure space to keep their belongings during the storm clean-up.

U-Haul is providing 30 days of free self-storage to those affected by Hurricane Helene at 34 locations across Virginia, including 11 stores in Southern Virginia.
