An American church-planting missionary was abducted at gunpoint while leading a prayer meeting at his church in South Africa on Thursday, police say.

A pastor from the United States was allegedly kidnapped by multiple armed men during a service at his church in South Africa this week, according to multiple reports and the Fellowship Baptist Church.

South African police say the missionary was abducted by armed and masked men as he was preaching a sermon in Eastern Cape province.
