The fans of the old TV show Full House were devastated after Dave Coulier, who played Joey Gladstone in the sitcom, announced that he was diagnosed with cancer.

Dave Coulier - who many know as character Joey Gladstone - made the shock announcement during a live appearance on America's Today show. The 65-year-old shared he only found out about his diagnosis five weeks ago after finding a ' golf ball size' lump in his groin area, which he initially thought was down to a cold.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Dave Coulier opened up about how Full House costars have supported him in the wake of his non-Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis.

"I went from, I got a little bit of a head cold to I have cancer," the actor and comedian says of his diagnosis, as he's trying to stay positive.
