NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The Sun emitted a strong solar flare Thursday morning—the strongest in seven years. Impacts on Earth are possible in the coming days. Impacts may include temporary disruptions with radio communications, the power grid, and GPS. Strong solar flares are also responsible for northern lights sightings.
