Principal William Lawrence has transformed his school into a campus full of superheroes ready to change the world.

The district sent a letter to parents Monday morning alerting them of the incident at John Marshall school. The student with the weapon was caught in the checkpoint area, according to the district.

Law enforcement told 19 News that security spotted the gun in the student’s backpack when he went through the X-ray machine.
