This marks the second time Navy football has honored the Jolly Rogers. In 1962, the Midshipmen, formerly known as the Cadets, wore a helmet design in a 34-14 win against the Army.

On Wednesday, Navy and Under Armour unveiled uniforms that will honor the Jolly Rogers aviation squadron during the 125th annual Army-Navy Game on Dec. 14 at Northwest Stadium in Landover.

Navy's uniform also hearkens back to World War II, when the U.S. Navy established Fighter Squadron 17 (VF-17), which began its life flying the F4U-1 Corsair fighter, in 1943.
