Students from S.J. Montgomery will be zoned to that campus, Alice Boucher Elementary and Woodvale Elementary. Students from Lafayette Middle would be rezoned to Acadian, Edgar Martin, Scott and L.J. Alleman middle schools.

The Lafayette Parish School Board voted to close S.J. Montgomery Elementary, repurpose Lafayette Middle as an elementary and rezone those middle school students to four different campus. The vote was approved 8-1 during a Wednesday meeting. Board member Amy Trahan was the lone no vote.
