Lahore: Pakistan’s jailed former prime minister Imran Khan’s party on Saturday managed to hold a massive power show here as the police switched off the lights and mic system following the expiry of the 6 pm deadline.

Authorities in Lahore have locked all gates leading to Minar-e-Pakistan ahead of a planned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally scheduled for 21st September. Police and related departments took the action, sealing off the grounds and restricting any form of public entry.

The Punjab government refused Imran Khan's PTI party permission to hold a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan, redirecting it to the outskirts of Lahore. The Lahore High Court allowed the rally with conditions,

Lahore: The district administration of Lahore on Friday allowed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold its power show in Lahore's Kahna, today in line with the directives given by the high court, Geo News reported.

The Punjab government late on Friday night refused to give jailed former prime minister Imran Khan's PTI permission for its much-hyped power show at Lahore's historic Minar-e-Pakistan but allowed the party to hold its rally at the outskirts of the city on Saturday.
