The Panthers fell 23-17 to East Carolina in the Military Bowl, ending their season at 8-5 and leaving a sour taste in the mouths of Pitt fans and players alike.

Two of the hottest teams in the NFL meet in the final game of the first round of the playoffs when Houston visits Pittsburgh.

Pitt wide receiver Deuce Spann announced on Instagram recently that he is declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft. Spann announced his intentions with a graphic that unfortunately included a typo. At the bottom of the graphic, he closed out his announcement with “Duece Spann” instead of the correct spelling of his name, which is “Deuce Spann.”

Pittsburgh’s Trey Butkowski signed with the Wolverines on Thursday, a team spokesman confirmed to The Ann Arbor News/ MLive, ending their short search for a successor to Dominic Zvada. Butkowski formally entered the transfer portal on Wednesday. He has three years of college eligibility remaining.

Butkowski’s signing was confirmed Thursday by Michigan football spokesman Dave Ablauf. Michigan also added long snapper Nico Crawford from Pitt, and punter Cam Brown, who most recently played for UNLV.
