Derek Carr Makes Endorsement for Raiders’ Head Coaching Job

On March 13, 2025, the Seattle Seahawks traded quarterback Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders, reuniting him with former Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll. The same day, the Seahawks signed quarterback Sam Darnold to a three-year contract to become their new starter in Smith's place.
Pete Carroll’s return to the NFL lasted all of one miserable season in Sin City. The former Seahawks head coach was fired on Monday morning after one season in charge of the Las Vegas Raiders, in which the hope that he could turn around the franchise flopped into the worst season of his NFL coaching career.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph is slated to meet with the team on Thursday. Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak’s interview is set for Friday.

Early thoughts on Las Vegas Raiders’ coaching search
ESPN has reported the Raiders may prefer an offense-first coach to pair with the No. 1 overall pick, which is expected to be a quarterback. That’s certainly plausible. And of the first five reported interview requests, five of the four candidates are, indeed, offsensive coaches.
The Raiders are set for several head coaching interviews on Thursday. Albert Breer of SI.com reports that they will interview former Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski. Previous reports noted that they will also be speaking with Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph and Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy.
