St. Augustine is on its way to becoming a town full of vacation rentals, one city commissioner said. Officials blamed state lawmakers for the issue.
About a dozen residents took the opportunity to speak during a St. Augustine commission meeting Monday night, voicing their concerns about vacation rentals.
The St. Johns County Commission voted unanimously Tuesday, tweaking the county’s Land Development Code to account for short-term rentals.
That includes three in the city of St. Augustine, two in Vilano Beach, one on St. Augustine Beach and four along I-95 at State Road 16 and County Road 208.
