National Grid has said 44,619 properties are currently without power in the wake of Storm Goretti. There are a reported 197 power cuts across the South West. The National Grid has just updated its power map at 7.32am. Currently it lists 151 power cuts in Cornwall, with 41,731 properties affected.

A yellow wind warning is in place across the South West and South East of England and Wales as a deep area of low pressure will move across the south of the UK during Thursday and into Friday, bringing a mixture of rain, snow and strong winds. The warning is in place from 3pm until 8am on Wednesday.

A sea of weather warnings cover the country, with an amber snow alert covering the Midlands, parts of Yorkshire and Wales.

Cornwall is set to freeze this weekend as the Met Office has issued a number of yellow weather warnings for snow and ice as temperatures plummet. Forecasters have said temperatures will drop to -3°C over the weekend and into Monday and Tuesday as Cornwall is braced for a chilly few days.
