A winter weather advisory is issued by the National Weather Service when a low pressure system results in a mixture of winter weather ‒ such as snow, freezing rain or sleet – that can be hazardous. This combination does not meet the criteria of a warning.
The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch at 2 a.m. on Monday valid from Tuesday 10 a.m. until Thursday 10 a.m. for Siskiyou Mountains and Southern Oregon Cascades.

The watch was in place for Fayette Ridges. "The Winter Storm Watch has been replaced. Please see the latest information from NWS Pittsburgh PA on this developing situation," adds the National Weather Service.
