Mumbai: Just a day after the Mahayuti alliance’s decisive victory in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, a poster declaring Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar as the 'Future CM' was spotted near his residence in Mumbai's Malabar Hill on Sunday.

NCP chief Ajit Pawar wins the battle for Baramati constituency by a huge vote margin. Pawar competed against his nephew Yugendra Pawar, who is backed by NCP (SP) supremo Sharad Pawar.

In the contest between the two rival NCP factions in the Maharashtra assembly elections, the Ajit Pawar-led party defeated the outfit headed by his uncle Sharad Pawar on 29 seats.

Sharad Pawar’s faction may have garnered a higher vote share at 11.29 percent compared to Ajit Pawar’s 9.01 percent, but this support didn’t translate into seats.
