Baylor scored the first seven points and twice led by 11 before the Huskies began to chip away. Mahaney drained a pair of 3s and later assisted on Johnson’s layup. Four consecutive free throws by Johnson gave UConn a 31-28 advantage.

With top scorer Alex Karaban sidelined by concussion, the UConn men's basketball team had several players step up in a big win over Baylor Wednesday.

UConn also outpaced Baylor from the charity stripe, recording 26 points from the line to the Bears 12. The Huskies were led offensively by freshman Liam McNeeley who dropped 17 points, eight rebounds and three blocks in the win. Baylor was led by guard Robert Wright who went an impressive 9-15 from the field with four assists.
