As if Thanksgiving and Black Friday couldn’t be exciting enough, it appears some solar activity could bring the northern lights to part of the U.S. to round out the holiday week. NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) issued a geomagnetic storm watch for the next two days due to a filament eruption spotted on the Sun late Monday.

Northern lights should be visible on Thanksgiving and Black Friday from New York to Idaho thanks to an incoming solar storm, according to NOAA.

Those in the northern part of the US will have something to be grateful for on Thanksgiving, the sky is expected to be lit up by the aurora borealis.
