The Sabres didn't instigate anything following Stefan Noesen's high hit to Tage Thompson's head but ultimately defeated the Devils 4-3.

Thompson, the Sabres' leading scorer, did not practice Wednesday in KeyBank Center after sitting out the team's 3-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets; however, he has a chance to play Saturday night in Nashville when Buffalo faces the Predators at 8 p.m.

The Sabres are being taken to task all over social media for failing to respond after Tage Thompson was rocked with a dirty hit.

Buffalo Sabres forward Tage Thompson left Sunday’s game against the New Jersey Devils after taking a high hit from Stefan Noesen in the third period. Noesen received a match penalty and a game misconduct for the play, while Thompson did not return. It's still unknown if Noesen will hear from the NHL regarding a possible suspension.

The Buffalo Sabres practiced at LECOM Harborcenter on Friday prior to departing for their final game before the two-week break for the NHL 4 Nations Face-Off against the Nashville Predators on Saturday and had a number of players returning after they did not participate in workouts earlier in the week.
