The National Weather Service in State College says there’s a small chance of snow on a cloudy Saturday but a greater chance during the day Sunday. Central Pennsylvania could get 2″ to 4″, the weather service predicts. The Weather Channel says snow is likely to be steady Sunday afternoon, but predicts a smaller accumulation: 1″ to 3″.

As of Thursday, Jan. 16, Weather Service forecasts for central and Eastern North Carolina show two opportunities “for precipitation other than rain,” meteorologists’ way of saying it could be snow but don’t get too excited, it might be our old nemeses sleet or freezing rain.
