International lawyers for the Democratic Republic of Congo welcomed Apple's decision to stop sourcing minerals from there due to worsening conflict, but said they would press ahead with their cases against the company in Europe.

Apple has been formally accused by Congo of covering up war crimes by using conflict minerals in its supply chain, and criminal complaints have been filed in France and Belgium.

The minerals in question are tin, tantalum, and tungsten, a grouping known as 3T. The DRC is famous for its 3T deposits and world powers have long gone there to mine and extract those resources. According to the DRC and its lawyers,
