Dennis Schröder deal with Sacramento Kings will net Detroit Pistons space to make moves
Per NBA salary cap rules, the Pistons can take back up to $22.6 million in any sign-and-trade involving Schröder, who will reportedly sign a three-year, $45 million contract before he's dealt to the Kings. Alternatively, the Pistons can forego taking back salary to generate a player trade exception of $14.3 million.
The Sacramento Kings seem content to bring back their roster as-is if the Golden State Warriors don't trade Jonathan Kuminga.
