A man pedaling an electric bicycle died Thursday in a collision with a truck in Orangevale, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officers were alerted about 4:30 p.m. to the collision at Beech and Elm avenues, said Officer Trent Senter, a spokesman with the CHP’s East Sacramento office.

A Ukiah man died last week after crashing his electric bicycle on a trail in Mendocino County, police said. Witnesses told the Ukiah Police Department that on Thursday the man was riding south on The Great Redwood Trail when the front wheel of his e-bike caught on an object in the path and he crashed, the agency said in a Monday news release.
