Kia is recalling 62,872 of its EV6 vehicles to address an issue resulting in increased crash risk, the NHTSA report said.

Kia has issued a recall for certain models of its 2022 through 2024 EV6 Crossover for issues with the vehicle’s Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU), with over 62,800 customers potentially affected, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The NHTSA recently announced recalls for 305,996 vehicles. This includes vehicles from Stellantis, Fisker, Honda, Kia, and Hyundai.

Hyundai and Kia are recalling more than 200,000 vehicles because their integrated charging control units may have issues that could result in loss of drive power.

This isn't the first time E-GMP vehicles have been recalled over their Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU).

This issue could result in the camera image failing to display on vehicle screens, significantly diminishing rear visibility.

Some Hyundai models may have faulty wiring that would allow the vehicle to roll away. Other Hyundai, Kia and Genesis cars may have damaged EV charging units.
