Amir "Primo" Spears led the UTSA Roadrunners with 29 points and sealed the victory with a jump shot with 27 seconds remaining as the Roadrunners took down the Merrimack Warriors

Trailing by eight with less than 90 seconds to play, UTSA scored 11 straight points to surge ahead, beating Merrimack 76-74 in the Trojan Turkey Tipoff on Wednesday in Troy, Ala., to mark the first win for new coach Austin Claunch against a Division I opponent.

BOTTOM LINE: UTSA will take on Merrimack at Trojan Arena in Troy, Alabama. UTSA finished 11-21 overall with a 7-7 record in non-conference play in the 2023-24 season. The Roadrunners averaged 77.6 points per game while allowing opponents to score 81.0 last season.
