As Mumbai’s assembly election results unfold, the battle intensifies between the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance and the Congress-led MVA. With predictions favoring Mahayuti, the stakes are high for both alliances as they vie for control in this crucial political landscape.

Shiv Sena (UBT) and BJP each secure 4 wins in Mumbai City district, while BJP led in Mumbai Suburban with the highest number of seats.

Much like its performance across major regions in Maharashtra, the Mahayuti did well in the Mumbai and suburban regions as well, leading in 26 seats. The MVA could only manage the lead in 11 seats.

As reactions fly in thick ‘n’ fast, allies and adversaries say their piece about the maha battle that saw a maha win for the Mahayuti. Niranjan Shetty, chief spokesperson, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mumbai said,

In the Maharashtra 2024 assembly elections, the Mahayuti alliance comprising BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), and Ajit Pawar's NCP emerged victorious. In opposition stood Maha Vikas Aghadi, which included Congress and Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena.

As per the current Election Commission vote counting trends, the BJP-led NDA is leading on over 200 seats and the INDIA is far behind with leads on just 63 seats
