NASCAR released an official statement announcing a pause on the Chicago street race in 2026. The event has been dropped from the sport's calendar for next year so that NASCAR could work with the City of Chicago to form a plan that "further optimizes operational efficiencies." The objective is to bring the street race back in 2027.
NASCAR is pausing the Chicago street race because it needs more time to try to reschedule the event and reduce the build-out and breakdown of the pop-up racecourse.
In fact, Logano was one of seven drivers found guilty of speeding whilst on pit road during Sunday's race, with Ricky Stenhouse Jr, Erik Jones, Carson Hocevar, JJ Yeley, Josh Berry, and Christopher Bell also exceeding the limit at various points.
NASCAR is headed to San Diego for a race at Coronado Naval Base in 2026, according to reports. The RACER revealed that Coronado is a new destination for the upcoming season, marking an exciting addition to the calendar. The official announcement is expected to come on Wednesday, RACER reported.
