Celebrini, along with New York Islanders forward Bo Horvat, Montreal Canadiens forward Nick Suzuki, Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson, Los Angeles Kings goalie Darcy Kuemper and Washington Capitals goalie Logan Thompson are the six players on the Olympic roster who did not play for Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off this past February.

Chicago Blackhawks star Connor Bedard was off to a great start, prompting speculation about whether he would be named to Canada's Olympic team. Then he suffered a fluke injury on Dec. 12 that will keep him out until sometime in the new year.

Unless he finds his way onto the team as an injury replacement, Bedard will have to wait until Nice, France, in 2030.

Team Canada announced its official men’s hockey roster for the 2026 Olympics, the first time in over a decade in which NHL players will participate in the Games. The Canadian player pool is absolutely loaded with talent, and as such, some players missed the cut to represent their nation at the Olympics, even if they were deserving of a selection.

The Blackhawks coach pondered Thursday why the rest of the NHL doesn't understand "how good of a two-way winning hockey player Connor has become."
