Pemex has resumed operations following an Oct. 10 chemical leak that led to two fatalities at the operator’s 340,000-b/d refinery in Deer Park, Harris County, Tex.

The Deer Park refinery leaked hydrogen sulfide into the air on October 10, causing 2 deaths and close to three dozen injuries.

Officials say an operating unit at the Pemex Deer Park refinery released hydrogen sulfide on Thursday. The incident left two workers dead and 35 others injured.

A Mexican state-owned energy company is being sued by three of its workers after they were injured following a gas leak.

A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed against PEMEX Deer Park by the family of one of the workers killed in the hydrogen sulfide gas leak.

This is the second deadly incident to take place near Deer Park in the past several months. Last month a pipeline fire resulted in the death of one and the injury of several others.
