The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the schedule for the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting to be held in April. RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra announced that the MPC meeting is scheduled to be held from April 7 to 9.

The Reserve Bank of India reduced the repo rate by 25 basis points, lowering it to 6.25%, under the leadership of new Governor Sanjay Malhotra. The decision was influenced by a resilient Indian economy amidst global uncertainties and marked the first reduction since May 2020.

The six-member monetary policy committee (MPC) of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), led by governor Sanjay Malhotra, on Friday reduced the policy repo rate by 25 basis points to 6.25 per cent from 6.5 per cent.
