Rays respond to Pinellas County ultimatum: Stadium agreements are ‘in effect’
The Tampa Bay Rays say agreements for a deal approved in July to build a new $1.3 billion stadium in downtown St. Petersburg are still in effect until a party terminates them or deadlines are blown. Team president Matt Silverman sent a letter Friday evening in response to the Pinellas County Commission chairperson’s demand for a clear answer on whether the team intends to move forward with that deal or officially back out by Sunday.
